Some of our current chairs who have worked for years are retiring and would like to hand down these responsibilities to younger civic minded resident voters (or non-residents). This is an important position in which we need reliable people who want our elections to be conducted per regulations. This is not a voluntary position you will receive and hourly rate of pay for training as well as election day. You will be trained through two classes for the opening and closing of a precinct as well as for the running of the precinct on election day. It is required that you have a little experience on how to work a computer laptop. The City of Riverview is looking for people interested in becoming a Precinct Chair or Co-Chair. The highest 2 vote recipients for Mayor will be on the November Ballot and the highest top six vote recipients will be on the November Ballot. There can only be 2 candidates for Mayor and only 6 candidates for City Council to vote for in the November Election. This is an important election to narrow down the candidates for the NovemCity General Election. The City of Riverview will be having an AugPrimary Election for Mayor (Vote for 1) and City Council (Vote for 3) as well as a proposal to initiate legislation pursuant to Section 6 of the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act, to reinstate the City's marihuana moratorium and to disallow the sale of marihuana in the City of Riverview.
